Correct Answer: 43 and 0
Solution :
Given:
× and –
l. 24 ÷ 8 × 2 + 7 – 6
II. 8 × 6 – 9 ÷ 3 + 10
Interchange the signs according to the given instructions and after interchanging the equations become –
I. 24 ÷ 8 × 2 + 7 – 6
⇒ 24 ÷ 8 – 2 + 7 × 6
= 3 – 2 + 7 × 6
= 3 – 2 + 42
= 3 + 40 = 43
II. 8 × 6 – 9 ÷ 3 + 10
⇒ 8 – 6 × 9 ÷ 3 + 10
= 8 – 6 × 3 + 10
= 8 – 18 + 10
= 8 – 8 =
0
So, after interchanging the given two signs, the values of the equations are 43 and 0 respectively. Hence, the second option is correct.
