Correct Answer: e, c, b, a, d

Solution : Given:
a. Guarantee b. Group c. Grotesque d. Guard e. Groan

Step 1: Since all the words start with the same letter G , so move on to the next letter.
Step 2: The second letter of each word is either u or r . The arrangement can be – (Group, Grotesque, Groan), (Guarantee, Guard).
Step 3: The third letter of (Gr o up, Gr o tesque, Gr o an) is the same. So, move on to the next letter.
Step 4: Compare the fourth letter of (Gro u p, Gro t esque, Gro a n). Groan will come before Group and Grotesque as a comes before t , and u according to the alphabetical system. Similarly, Grotesque will come before Group as t comes before u according to the alphabetical system.
Step 5: The third and fourth letters of (Gu ar antee, and Gu ar d) are the same. So, move on to the next letter.
Step 6: Compare the fifth letter of (Guar a ntee, and Guar d ). Guarantee will come before Guard as a comes before d according to the alphabetical system.

So, the sequence is Groan, Grotesque, Group, Guarantee, Guard, or e, c, b, a, d. Hence, the fourth option is correct.
