Correct Answer: 9 × 3 – 4 ÷ 2 + 1 = 10
Solution :
Given:
Interchange 1 and 9
Interchanging 1 and 9 in each of the given options –
First option:
9 × 3 – 4 ÷ 2 + 1 = 10
1 × 3 – 4 ÷ 2 + 9
= 1 × 3 – 2 + 9
= 3 – 2 + 9
= 3 + 7
= 10 = R.H.S.
Second option:
1 + 9 × 3 – 4 ÷ 2 = 18
9 + 1 × 3 – 4 ÷ 2
= 9 + 1 × 3 – 2
= 9 + 3 – 2
= 12 – 2
= 10 ≠ 18
Third option:
9 × 2 + 1 – 8 ÷ 4 = 12
1 × 2 + 9 – 8 ÷ 4
= 1 × 2 + 9 – 2
= 2 + 9 – 2
= 11 – 2
= 9 ≠ 12
Fourth option:
9 – 1 + 6 ÷ 2 × 3 = 7
1 – 9 + 6 ÷ 2 × 3
= 1 – 9 + 3 × 3
= 1 – 9 + 9
= 1 – 0
= 1 ≠ 7
So, only the first option satisfies the R.H.S. of the given equation. Hence, the first option is correct.
