Correct Answer: 4 ÷ 2 + 3 – 6 × 5 = –14
Solution : Given: 4 and 6
Replace the given numbers in the options one by one with the original numbers in the given equation. First option: 4 ÷ 2 + 3 – 6 × 5 = –14 ⇒ 6 ÷ 2 + 3 – 4 × 5 = 3 + 3 – 20 = –14 Second option: 9 ÷ 3 + 6 × 5 – 4 = 18 ⇒ 9 ÷ 3 + 4 × 5 – 6 = 3 + 20 – 6 = 17 ≠ 18 Third option: 4 × 3 + 6 – 2 ÷ 1 = 21 ⇒ 6 × 3 + 4 – 2 ÷ 1 = 18 + 4 – 2 = 20 ≠ 21 Fourth option: 4 – 6 ÷ 2 + 3 × 5 = 20 ⇒ 6 – 4 ÷ 2 + 3 × 5 = 6 – 2 + 15 = 19 ≠ 20
So, only the first option satisfies the R.H.S. of the given equation. Hence, the first option is correct.
