Correct Answer: Both I and II

Solution : Given:
I. 5 × 7 + 6 ÷ 2 – 8 = 36
II. 8 + 3 × 7 – 5 ÷ 1 = 26

After interchanging numbers 7 and 8, the equations are as follows –
I. 5 × 7 + 6 ÷ 2 – 8 = 36
After interchanging, 5 × 8 + 6 ÷ 2 – 7 = 36
⇒ 5 × 8 + 3 – 7 = 36
⇒ 40 + 3 – 7 = 36
⇒ 36 = 36
II. 8 + 3 × 7– 5 ÷ 1= 26
After interchanging, 7 + 3 × 8 – 5 ÷ 1= 26
⇒ 7 + 3 × 8 – 5 = 26
⇒ 7 + 24 – 5 = 26
⇒ 26 = 26

So, both I and II satisfy the given equation. Hence, the third option is correct.
