Correct Answer: 4 ÷ 2 + 8 × 3 = 16

Solution : Given:
8 and 4

Replace the given numbers in the options one by one with the original numbers in the given equations.
First option: 4 + 8 × 2 – 3 = 20
Solving the L.H.S. of the equation –
⇒ 8 + 4 × 2 – 3
= 8 + 8 – 3
= 13 ≠ 20
Second option: 4 ÷ 2 + 8 × 3 = 16
Solving the L.H.S. of the equation –
⇒ 8 ÷ 2 + 4 × 3
= 4 + 12
= 16 = R.H.S.
Third option: 4 + 3 × 8 – 2 = 21
Solving the L.H.S. of the equation –
⇒ 8 + 3 × 4 – 2
= 8 + 12 – 2
= 18 ≠ 21
Fourth option: 8 – 4 + 6 = 9
Solving the L.H.S. of the equation –
⇒ 4 – 8 + 6
= 2 ≠ 9

So, only the second option satisfies the R.H.S. of the given equation. Hence, the second option is correct.
