Correct Answer: Only II
Solution : Given: + and ÷ are interchanged – I. 4 ÷ 2 + 1 – 8 × 3 = –10 II. 18 ÷ 2 – 8 + 4 × 3 = 14
For equation I – After interchanging the given symbols, we get – ⇒ 4 + 2 ÷ 1 – 8 × 3 ⇒ 4 + 2 – 8 × 3 ⇒ 4 + 2 – 24 ⇒ –18 ≠ –10 For equation II – After interchanging the given symbols, we get – ⇒ 18 + 2 – 8 ÷ 4 × 3 ⇒ 18 + 2 – 2 × 3 ⇒ 18 + 2 – 6 ⇒ 14 = 14
So, only equation II gives the required answer. Hence, the first option is correct.
