Correct Answer: Only II
Solution :
Given:
+ and ×
l. 5 × 12 – 15 + 20 ÷ 30 = 7
II. 51 ÷ 17 × 9 + 10 – 8 = 85
After interchanging the symbols the equations are as follows –
I. 5 × 12 – 15 + 20 ÷ 30 = 7
⇒ 5 + 12 – 15 × 20 ÷ 30 = 7
⇒ 5 + 12 – 15 × 0.67 = 7
⇒ 5 + 12 – 10.05 = 7
⇒ 17 – 10.05 = 7
⇒ 6.95 ≠ 7
II. 51 ÷ 17 × 9 + 10 – 8 = 85
⇒ 51 ÷ 17 + 9 × 10 – 8 = 85
⇒ 3 + 9 × 10 – 8 = 85
⇒ 3 + 90 – 8 = 85
⇒ 93 – 8 = 85
Therefore, only the second equation satisfies the R.H.S. of the given equation. Hence, the fourth option is correct.
