Correct Answer: Saturday
Solution : Given: 12 January 2004 is a Monday.
Let's calculate the total number of days from the 12th of January 2004 to the 26th of February 2011 –
Number of days from 12 January 2004 to 31 December 2004 = 19 + 29 + 31 + 30 + 31 + 30 + 31 + 31 + 30 + 31 + 30 + 31 = 354 Number of days from 1 January 2005 to 31 December 2010 = (6 × 365) + 1 = 2191 (1 leap year) Number of days from 1 January 2011 to 26 February 2011 = 31 + 26 = 57 So, the total number of days from 12 January 2004 to 26 February 2011 = 354 + 2191 + 57 = 2602 Now, on dividing 2602 by 7, we get 371 as the quotient and 5 as the remainder.
Therefore, add 5 to Monday, Monday + 5 = Saturday
So, the 26th of February 2011 will be Saturday. Hence, the first option is correct.
