Correct Answer: Tuesday
Solution : Given: 22 July 1969 is a Tuesday.
Let's calculate the total number of days from the 22nd of July 1969 to the 6th of August 1985 –
Number of remaining days in 1969 = 9 + 31 + 30 + 31 + 30 + 31 = 162 Number of days from 1 January 1970 to 31 December 1984 = (15 × 365) + 4 = 5479 (4 leap years) Number of days from 1 January 1985 to 6 August 1985 = 31 + 28 + 31 + 30 + 31 + 30 + 31 + 6 = 218 So, the total number of days from 22 July 1969 to 6 August 1985 = 162 + 5479 + 218 = 5859 Now, on dividing 5859 by 7, we get 837 as the quotient and 0 as the remainder.
Therefore, add 0 to Tuesday, Tuesday + 0 = Tuesday
So, the 6th of August 1985 will be Tuesday. Hence, the first option is correct.
