Correct Answer: 100
Solution : Given: PAINT is written as 80, and DROP is written as 59 –
Add the reverse position value of the letters of the word PAINT, and then add the total number of letters to the resultant, to obtain the required code – P→11; A→26; I→18; N→13; T→7 Now, add the reverse position value of the word PAINT, then add the total number of letters in the word – 11 + 26 + 18 + 13 + 7 = 75 + 5 = 80 Thus, PAINT is coded as 80. And, DROP is written as 59 – D → 23; R → 9; O → 12; P → 11 Now, add the reverse position value of the word DROP, then add the total number of letters in the word – 23 + 9 + 12 + 11 = 55 + 4 = 59 Thus, DROP is coded as 59. Similarly, follow the same pattern for MARKET → M→14; A→26; R→9; K→16; E→22; T→7 Now, add the reverse position value of the word MARKET then add the total number of letters in the word – 14 + 26 + 9 + 16 + 22 + 7 = 94 + 6 = 100
So, MARKET is coded as 100. Hence, the first option is correct.
