Correct Answer: 18 – 3 + 2 × 8 ÷ 6 = 14

Solution : Given:
– stands for division, + stands for multiplication, ÷ stands for subtraction, × stands for addition.

Replace the mathematical signs in the equations and solve the equations one by one.

Let's check the given options –
First option: 18 ÷ 3 × 2 + 8 – 6 = 10
⇒ 18 – 3 + 2 × 8 ÷ 6 = 10
Solving L.H.S. of the equation –
= 18 – 3 + 2 × 1.33
= 18 – 3 + 2.66
= 20.66 – 3
= 17.66 ≠ 10
Second option: 18 – 3 + 2 × 8 ÷ 6 = 14
⇒ 18 ÷ 3 × 2 + 8 – 6 = 14
Solving L.H.S. of the equation –
= 6 × 2 + 8 – 6
= 12 + 8 – 6
= 20 – 6
= 14 = R.H.S.
Third option: 18 – 3 ÷ 2 × 8 + 6 = 17
⇒ 18 ÷ 3 – 2 + 8 × 6 = 17
Solving L.H.S. of the equation –
= 6 – 2 + 8 × 6
= 6 – 2 + 48
= 54 – 2
= 52 ≠ 17
Fourth option: 18 × 3 + 2 ÷ 8 – 6 = 15
⇒ 18 + 3 × 2 – 8 ÷ 6 = 15
Solving L.H.S. of the equation –
= 18 + 3 × 2 – 1.33
= 18 + 6 – 1.33
= 24 – 1.33
= 22.67 ≠ 15

So, only the second option satisfies the given condition. Hence, the second option is correct.
