In all the series above the following number is double of the preceding number.

⇒ 5 + 5 = 10; 10 + 10 = 20; 20 + 20 = 40
⇒ 7 + 7 = 14; 14 + 14 = 28; 28 + 28 = 56
In series (II) it is written 24 instead of 20.
So, 24 in the second series is the wrong number. Hence, the second option is correct.
