Solution : Employees before 2010 = 640
Recruitment in 2010 = 35
Required percentage increase = $\frac{\text{New recruitment}}{\text{Previous emplyees}}\times100$
= $\frac{35}{640}\times100$
= 5.46% = 5.5% (approx)
Hence, the correct answer is 5.5%.
