Correct Answer: 3
Solution : Given: The ratio of the present ages of Pankaj and Punit is 5 : 6 and the sum of their ages is 33 years.
Let the present ages of Pankaj and Punit be 5y and 6y. According to the question – ⇒ 5y + 6y = 33 ⇒ 11y = 33 ⇒ y = 33 ÷ 11 ⇒ y = 3 Therefore, Present age of Pankaj = 5y = 5 × 3 = 15 years Present age of Punit = 6y = 6 × 3 = 18 years Difference = 18 – 15 = 3 years
Hence, the second option is correct.
