Correct Answer: ÷ and ×

Solution : Given:
68 ÷ 2 – 42 + 108 × 12 = 103

Replace the given symbols in the options one by one with the original symbols in the given equation.
First option: = and –
68 ÷ 2 = 42 + 108 × 12 – 103
L.H.S.→68 ÷ 2 = 34
R.H.S.→42 + 108 × 12 – 103
= 42 + 1296 – 103
= 1235 ≠ 34
L.H.S. ≠ R.H.S.
Second option: + and –
L.H.S.→68 ÷ 2 + 42 – 108 × 12
= 34 + 42 – 108 × 12
= 34 + 42 – 1296
= –1220 ≠ 103
Third option: ÷ and ×
L.H.S.→68 × 2 – 42 + 108 ÷ 12
= 68 × 2 – 42 + 9
= 136 – 42 + 9
= 103 = R.H.S.
Fourth option: ÷ and +
L.H.S.→ 68 + 2 – 42 ÷ 108 × 12
= 68 + 2 – 0.38 × 12
= 68 + 2 – 4.66
= 65.34 ≠ 103

So, only the third option satisfies the R.H.S. of the given equation. Hence, the third option is correct.
