Correct Answer: – and +

Solution : Given:
7 × 2 + 4 – 6 ÷ 3 = 12

Let's check the options –
First option: × and –
7 – 2 + 4 × 6 ÷ 3 = 12
L.H.S. = 7 – 2 + 4 × 2
= 7 – 2 + 8
= 15 – 2
= 13 ≠ 12
Second option: = and ×
7 = 2 + 4 – 6 ÷ 3 × 12
L.H.S. = 7
R.H.S. = 2 + 4 – 6 ÷ 3 × 12
= 2 + 4 – 2 × 12
= 2 + 4 – 24
= 6 – 24
= –18 ≠ 7
Third option: – and +
7 × 2 – 4 + 6 ÷ 3 = 12
L.H.S. = 7 × 2 – 4 + 6 ÷ 3
= 7 × 2 – 4 + 2
= 14 – 4 + 2
= 12 = R.H.S.
Fourth option: – and =
7 × 2 + 4 = 6 ÷ 3 – 12
L.H.S. = 7 × 2 + 4
= 14 + 4
= 18
R.H.S. = 6 ÷ 3 – 12
= 2 – 12
= –10
⇒ 18 ≠ –10

So, only the third option satisfies the R.H.S. of the given equation. Hence, the third option is correct.
