Correct Answer: × and +

Solution : Given:
8 ÷ 2 × 7 – 5 + 2 = 1

Let's check the options –
First option: × and +
Solving the L.H.S. of the equation –
8 ÷ 2 + 7 – 5 × 2
= 4 + 7 – 5 × 2
= 4 + 7 – 10
= 11 – 10
= 1 = R.H.S.
Second option: + and –
Solving the L.H.S. of the equation –
8 ÷ 2 × 7 + 5 – 2
= 4 × 7 + 5 – 2
= 28 + 5 – 2
= 31 ≠ 1
Third option: × and –
Solving the L.H.S. of the equation –
8 ÷ 2 – 7 × 5 + 2
= 4 – 7 × 5 + 2
= 4 – 35 + 2
= –29 ≠ 1
Fourth option: + and =
8 ÷ 2 × 7 – 5 = 2 + 1
L.H.S. = 8 ÷ 2 × 7 – 5
= 4 × 7 – 5
= 28 – 5
= 23
R.H.S. = 2 + 1 = 3
23 ≠ 3

So, only the first option satisfies the R.H.S. of the given equation. Hence, the first option is correct.
