Main Features of Dhamma of Ashoka the great are -
- Ahinsa (Non-Violence)
- No Animal Sacrifice
- Animal Welfare and taking their care
- Obeying Elders
- Liberality towards friends and relatives
- Courtesy to slaves and servants
Ashoka Dhamma did not involved God Worship, Idol Worship or false rituals.
Diverse opinion was shared on this by different historians. They all seem to be biased against Buddhism and on some occasions they have committed factual errors in dealing with this. Various historians believe that Ashoka's Dhamma were taken from buddhist texts.
