The Amity University Mumbai, UG admissions are offered in several ways to its students.
Direct admission is offered to students who have obtained an aggregate of more than 80% in class XII from CBSE/ISC/State Board.
Amity University admission to B. Arch programme is offered on the basis of marks obtained in the (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture or JEE Main Paper 2 conducted by National Testing Agency.
Amity University B.Tech admissions are offered through the SOP admission process for students who have appeared in JEE main or any state level engineering entrance examination.
Admission to BFA and BID (Fine Arts and Interior Designing) requires students to upload a portfolio of themselves.
Amity University Mumbai admissions to other courses such as BBA, B. Stat, B.A. etc are offered based on the marks obtained in 10+2 or its equivalent.

Amity University accepts applications in both online and offline formats.
Candidates with a 10+2 certification in relevant topics are eligible to apply for the UG programmes.
To be eligible for B.Arch, candidates must have a valid NATA score and have Mathematics as a mandatory course in 10+2 with a minimum of 50%.
Applicants for the B.Tech programme must have finished 10+2 with a grade of 60 percent or above, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as required courses.
The Amity JEE is used to determine admission to B.Tech programmes.
Admission to the remaining UG courses will be based on results achieved in a University-sponsored test as well as performance in a personal interview.
Candidates with a bachelor's degree in a related field are eligible to apply for the postgraduate programmes.
MBA aspirants must have a valid CAT / XAT / NMAT / MAT / GMAT score in order to be considered for subsequent rounds.
The MBA course selection process will include an extra Group Discussion phase, which will be performed by the institution.
Applicants for the M.Tech programme must have a B.E. / B.Tech degree in Biotechnology or a related field.
Applicants for the MCA programme must have earned a BCA degree with Mathematics as a subject in BCA or in 10+2.
Admission to the postgraduate programmes will be based on a test and an individual interviews, both of which will be performed by the university.
Students who have earned a Master's degree in a relevant field of study with a grade point average of 55 percent or above are eligible for the Ph.D. programmes.
Ph.D. spots will be assigned based on a score earned in the University's Ph.D. Entrance Test and achievement in a personal interview.

Yes, it does take an entrance for specified courses. Also merit based admissions are there too. So you need to specify which course you are looking for. Amity JEE is an entrance exam held by Amity University for admission to the B. Tech programme. Other UG and PG degrees have direct admission based on the Written Test and an English language test, followed by a GD or PI. Wherever necessary, a course-based written test, creative test, or physical test is administered.
