yes , you need it , in future you will have many benefits , apply for obc certificate in meeseva  , this helps you to get scholarship i.e fee reimbursement from government and if there is no time to get new certificate then you can also submit payment receipt in document verification but its not mandatory but if you have it you will get many benefits .
