Dear student!
Yes, a Student, if failed even in one subject exam, is considered as fail or rather say, gets compartment. So, definitely it's a fail, if you fail in three subjects. But, there's also a provision of compartment exam where you can re- attempt the paper and then your score is calculated accordingly. Offcourse the question paper changes from the previous one, but is on same syllabus. So, you can apply for re attempting the exams. Hope this helps.

but mam will he get a marksheet on which fail is written or any document like migration certificate or transfer certificate

you will get the marksheet and other documents once you pass your compartment exam. so, no fail will be written on it. but, they may show the no. of attempts.
mam i was failed in 12 th and i was a regular candidate . but then next year i appeared as private candidate and got 94% . so now i have my private passing certificate , marksheet,and migration certificate.
for neet , mci said i need my previous marksheet also in which i was failed .
