Dear student,
In mechanical engineering you have to do a lot of hard work. Mechanical engineering is one of the oldest and reputed branch of engineering field.
You have to perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. You have to oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment such as centralized heat, gas, water, and steam systems.
You have to continuously work in constant heat and pressure and also have to work with tools.
And normally in India most of the girls do not opt for mechanical engineering.
And in almost the colleges of india, in mechanical engineering branch the girl to boy ratio is 1: 40, 1:50 or 1:70.
And at many places it is zero means no girl in mechanical engineering branch.
In Nit Jamshedpur's mechanical engineering branch, the girl to boy ratio is only one girl out of 60 to 70 boys. The ratio is better in CSE , EC and Electrical but that's far from normal.
But if you want mechanical engineering and you have interest for it, then go for it without thinking about the ratio of girl to boy.
