Hello Alfiya!

In order to be qualified for taking admission into any medical college, a candidate needs to have a score more than the givn below cut-offs:

1.) Qualifying cut-off - This is the minimum marks required by the candidate to qualify NEET UG. This is released by the conducting body of the exam. So this year it will be released by the NTA, along with the results.

2.) Admission cut-off - This is the minimum marks required by the candidate to get admission into a particular college. This is released by the concerned college. For different colleges, the cut-off varies.

Usually, private medical colleges have a lower admission cut-off than government medical colleges. And since 2016 (that is the beginning of NEET), as directed by the SUPREME COURT OF INDIA, only NEET qualified students (with scores equal to or more than the qualifying cut-off) can take admission into medical colleges (government/private/abroad). Therefore, the admission cut-off set by colleges (even private institutes) ought to be equal to or more than the qualifying cut-off set by NTA.

So if the marks scored by you are more than the qualifying cut-off as well as the admission cut-off of the concerned college, then you might get a chance to take admission into a private institution.

Remember, cut-offs are different for UR,SC,ST, UR-PH and OBC students.

So, please mention your category, as well as state, so that we can help you accordingly.
