Yes, you do need to carry that certificate as it would be the only proof if you want to avail that reservation. Without all the necessary documents, it would mean that you are unprofessional and do not take it seriously. Being careless on your own part would only further diminish the chances of you getting the reservation. So, not just the income certificate, take all the necessay certificates with you to counselling. And make sure you carry 2 sets of their photocopy(of each certificate) along with the originals.
