Yes spellings are very important specially in a subject like biology because it consists of various anatomical names, classifications, kingdom, genera, morphological parts, structural units, etc which need to be properly written to mention their importance. So yes if you've done major spelling mistakes then surely the marks will be cut. Try to practice the spellings well as its very necessary.
