Hello Kartik,
Its just a misconception . It actually depends upon your profile. If your profile is good obviously you will be placed . So just focus on the co curricular along with the curriculum. Do more of social service, try doing internships of the area of your specification. This would help in building your CV .

I am a student of MBA in GNDU Amritsar... My seniors did get placed with MBA finance. Moreover all the major IIM's and Bschools like IIM A , B, C , FMS , JBIMS etc do provide good placements to finance students. Kindly tell me the college your friend has been talking about ?
She is talking about mumbai University...... And you know what? I am from pathankot....i a pursuing bcom final in AB college under GNDU

This is a very wrong thing that has been put into you mind by whoever. Never get you attention in these wrong rumors ad they can deprive you out of your focus...MBA in finance is very good course where you have multiple jib opportunities with a handsome salary as every organisation want an mba finace to carry thier financial task to it has a lot if oppurtunities so stay calm and have focus and yo will get a good job in you placement.You just need to give best from your side.

No kartik its not like that...if companies will come in your college then they defently will find for a mba in finance.
i suggest you should check the past placement records of your respective college.
I'm not doing MBA.... I just wanted to get admission in that college which have placement records in finance. ..
So, you want admission in a private MBA college with good placement records in finance...Is that what you are asking???

For this you have to crack CAT with above 95%ile.
