Do private law colleges cost less or more than nlus?
greetings,
Well, it depends on the college.
Most NLUs have annual fees of around 1.7-2.5 lacs which includes all amenities from hostel, mess to wifi, etc.
Whereas the private colleges which are at par with NLUs in terms of academic quality are very expensive.
for example,
SLS Pune's annual tuition fee is around 3.5 lacs (not including accommodation and other spending) which will cost you around 5-6 lacs per annum in total.
As for Jindal law School - it is one of the most extravagant and expensive law schools in India with fees around 9 lacs (basic) with a 10% increment each year 9for a 5-year course0 and if you opt for their foreign exchange program with Cornell university then the expenses are to be paid by the student, which will cost upwards of 25 lacs.
Hi Gita!
The Fee Structure of NLU for one year is Rs. 262000. Whereas, other Law Colleges across the Nation varies in its Fee Structure. For example, Jindal Global Law School, Sonipat has it's yearly fees as Rs. 287500 and Indore Institute of Law has Rs. 112900 as it's one year fee. So, it changes across the Nation.
Some private Colleges have huge Fee Payment such as School of Law, Christ University, Bangalore with Rs. 750000 as their one year fee. So, it changes.
Hope this is helpful!
All the best!
Hi dear,
Private Law colleges have higher fees when compared to National Law universities because NLU has subsided fees structure and hence has low fees. The NLUs have fees around 2.5 lakhs whereas private law colleges fees is around 5 lakhs per annum.
following are few private colleges:
- Aurora's Legal Sciences Academy, Hyderabad (ALSA), Hyderabad, Telangana
- Amity University, Mumbai, Maharashtra
- Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU), Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh
- SAGE University, Indore, Madhya Pradesh
- The ICFAI University, Jaipur, Rajasthan
