Do we have scope in future for mechanical engineering after doing btech and mtech?
Now a days the mechanical engineering transformed to mechatronics. People are preferring mechatronics than mechanical. Because there was bond signed in UNO that after 2028, there should be no petrol, diesel vehicles use. Because of lot of pollution and environmental issues, also the shortage of petrol, diesel in upcoming years, All are focusing on electric vehicles. Mechanical engineering is fully based on the study of petrol and diesel engines mainly.
So check the syllabus before choosing the course. If your course providing about electric vehicles also you can get a job in future. otherwise I wont suggest you to go for mechanical.
I can say that the opportunities for mechanical engineer are moderate if you go for off campus placement. But if you are good at academics, knowledge and application oriented, there will be a very good chance for you to get in companies through on-campus placement in your stream itself. If so then don't miss the chance. Or else you MAY have to go for IT job because lots of mechanical engineers are getting graduated each year. And having average chances for recruitment, only the talented get the job. But if you are too dedicated, you can even prepare for central and state government jobs. Even though govt organization offer less jobs but if you are really passionate it will open the doors of a good career.
