EWS central (those who are not SC,ST,OBC) etc and EWS Maharashtra state (those who are not SC,ST,OBC,SBC,NT,SEBC,) etc..
So it depends on the type of exam or job you are seeking. if you are appearing exam held by Maharashtra government you must have EWS cetificate issued by Maharastra government.
If the exam is held by cental government you must have the certificate issued by cental goverment.
Try to make both certificates so you don't have to miss the opportunity.
