Do we have to pay registration fees for each attempt and how many attempts do we get in a year?

Yes, you have to pay registration fee everytime you have to appear for GRE. You can appear for a maximum of 5 times for GRE in a year. You can register for a new exam only after 21 days of the previous exam.
