No, you do not have to upload thumb impression in the SSC CGL application form. You have to upload your scanned passport size photograph taken not earlier than 3 months from the notification date and scanned signature image. You do not have to worry as you wouldn't have uploaded thumb impression while applying for SSC CGL. You can also verify what you have uploaded by checking the application form that you have submitted if you have saved it after submitting the application.

All they ask for is a photograph that must be more than 4 kb and less than 12 kb with a resolution of 100-pixel width and 120-pixel height, and signature that must be more than 1 kb and less than 12 kb with a resolution of 40-pixel width by 60-pixel height.
However, on the day of examination, they will record your left thumb impression for future reference and identity verification.
