There are two types of cut-off criterion - first is per subject marks (combined of two papers) and second is overall marks (combined of two papers). You have to clear both the the cutt-off criterion to clear JEE advance. These two are also referred as Minimum Percentage of Marks in Each Subject and Minimum Percentage of Aggregate Marks.
Minimum marks in each subject of each paper is needed to qualify for the JEE Advanced since the exam checks the diversification of your knowledge in each and every field. Hence if you aren't obtaining the minimum marks required, better try hard next year
