Hi ! No, it is not mandatory that you write kvpy sc streams in class 12 because if you can complete your 12 syllabus in 11, then no you can attempt the exam in class 11 or just at the beginning of class 12. But still it is preferable you give the exam in class 12, then you will get some preference in interview. So hope you understand and best of luck to you.
