Do yo have any arrangements where a student can study in India on Coursera and still gets a formal online international degree?
Yes, over the last 2- 2.5 years, the depth of the content on Coursera has been growing and what started as short MOOCs is now full online. There are 19 degrees. So the same top universities who teach on Coursera, now 19 of them have degrees on the Coursera platform. As an example, The University of Pennsylvania which is in Ivy League University in the US has masters in Computers and Information Technology on Coursera and the admission process, faculty, is the same and it's one fourth the cost because online courses are a lot more cost efficient and degree is the same. There are 19 such degrees that are available. These are in the areas of Computer science, data science, Management programs (MBA), and Public Health.
We see a lot of people from India applying for these degrees and studying these degrees as well because the student then has a choice between masters in IT from an Indian University which may or maynot be high quality or to do it from overseas in a top quality institution and at the same time continue to work because work can be continued with an online degree. So we do see quite a few students applying from India.
At the undergraduate level there is a Bachelor's in Computer Science at the University of London.
