Does 1 year gap after graduation create any difficulty in final placements??
Hello Eshita,
It is a very common phenomenon to take a year gap between your masters and graduation as you need ample time to prepare for entrance exams. As such there will be no problem during your final placements but at the time of the interview, you should be able to justify why you took a gap. if you say I was only preparing for CAT Exam the answer might not impress them, but if you say I was preparing for CAT and side by side "I was pursuing my hobbies" like worked with an NGO or did a short-term course from some university in my area of interest or did an internship that always give an extra credit during the interview ,again I would say this, not a compulsion that you should pursue something like this because placements vary from person to person, but you should be able to convince the interviewer that you have utilized that one year fully for your own growth.
Thank you

No, According to me taking a gap of 1 year after graduation does not create as such difficulty in final placement process. its all about how you apper during the placement process, 1 year of time gap is not a big concern. Most of the people generally take one year of gap.
No taking gap for entrance exam can never be a problem for placements you will be treated as like any other students and most of the companies does not care about the gap you can really find any company which won't allow you to appear for placements but now for 99% companies there is no problem.
Dear Esita, when you have such an impeccable academic record, it is understood that there is a deep and calculated thought process and hard work that has been put in. And a gap year is not something that people look into when hiring candidates like you who have such track record of excellence. So. don't worry about the gap year. Continue with your plans and give your best in the placement interviews. You needn't even consider it an issue. Good luck!
