Hello Student,

The class 12th marks has nothing to do with Jee Mains exam. The marks you will score in the Jee Mains will only be considered. While joining any college for B-tech degree, you will need both 12th class percentage and Jee Mains score for getting into a good college. 12th class marks as Jee Mains score is important for taking admission in a good college. But for Jee Mains exam, you don't need your 12th class marks.

Thank you.

Dear applicant although your 12th percentage would not alter your admission criteria into different institutions after qualifying JEE but to be eligible for admission you need to secure minimum 50% marks in your 10+2. As passing 12 with at least this percentage of marks is mandatory, though it would not matter whether you get 80% or 90% if you take admission into Engineering, Pharmacy or Architecture courses.

Good luck!!

Hi

In JEE Exams 12th board marks used to be a standard for eligibility criteria for taking the exams. But after 2021 this criteria is removed. But still many private engineering colleges do consider the 12th board marks for admission. Hence do not neglect your 12th board exams.

Hope it helps

Hello Aspirant,

No, if you want to just appear in JEE-Main examination the your class 12th marks doesn't matter but yes after appearing for JEE-Main when you go for counselling and admission on the basis of JEE-Main score then your class 12th marks come into play because different institutions have different eligibility criterion of class 12th marks like some require minimum 60%, some require 20% and so on.

See there is no percentage criteria to appear for JEE-Main but there are some criterion which you need to satisfy in order to appear for JEE-Main so let us discuss them :-

1---   There is no age limit to appear in JEE-Main but note that there might be the age limit in any particular institution taking admission through JEE-Main score, so you should keep this thing in mind.

2---   To be eligible for JEE-Main one should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Mathematics as mandatory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject from any of the recognized central or state board.

3---   For JEE-Main 2022 only those candidates who have passed Class 12 / equivalent examination in 2020, 2021 or 2022; or those who will be appearing in Class 12th / equivalent examination in 2022, would be eligible to appear.

So if you follow all above criterion then you are definitely eligible for JEE-Main.
