Does a 1 year gap for qualifying for the IIT JEE (in my last attempt I scored low marks) provide a problem in getting placement (especially for CS engineering branch) offered by reputed companies?

hello aspirant,

taking a drop for one year will not do any harm to your academic career of your placements. the recruiters that come to colleges to hire students do not ask whether they are droppers or not.

however, if you are choosing to take a drop for one year then, it's high chances for you to get very good marks in the exam.

all you have to do is prepare well for the exam, make a time table for yourself and follow it regularly.

preparing for one more year for the exam will surely provide you high chances of getting a better engineering colleges which will result in getting a better CSE job/ company.

hope that helps

all the best

Hello,

There's nothing wrong with taking a year drop to prepare for your JEE to get admission in IITs or NITs. It won't affect your placement in any manner since what matters the most to the interviewer is your accomplishments and what you have achieved in your 4 years of engineering.
The interviewer will do ask the question that why did you take a year drop? But you have to answer it very confidently and state your reason that you were preparing for IIT or you were sick or whatever your reason is.
You'll get your placement based on your personality, accomplishments, confidence and your academics.
So taking a year drop won't be much of a problem for your placement in any branch, just be confident about yourself .
Hope this helps.

Hi,

Ideally your placement should not be affected by the number of attempt you have made to qualify the jee main exam.

The placement is usually done on how you showcase your skills to recruier, how much knowledge of subject you have etc.

So your performance in the degree, interview will matter the most than the number of jee main attempt.

So you should not worry about it and should focus on your studies and on skills improvement.

Hope it helps.
