Hello, I hope you are doing well
Once you complete your masters in Zoology, you are far better than those people who have done their masters in courses such as Biotechnology, Ecology or Environmental science, they will have their edge because of their specialization ,but they will be less aware of certain aspects such as animal behavior, classification etc.
So, You can do two things :
1. Work as an associate Professor ,then get promoted to assistant professor and finally to Professor.
2. Pursue Ph.D. and obtain a Doctorate degree in 3+2 years ,and then work as a scientist
3. Appear different competitive Exams based on your masters degree.
For option 1 & 2 you will have to appear for the National Eligibility Test [NET ]
organized by CSIR, UGC, DBT, ICMR, TIFR, GATE, on national level or State Eligibility Test by the respective States which generally takes place once in every Six months
