For becoming a cardiologist, students must complete the 10+2 level of school education in science stream with 60% aggregate or equivalent from a recognised board.
Several Cardiology Colleges in India have entrance exams to select students. Students must take entrance exams in order to get admitted to their desired Colleges and Universities. Admissions are granted based on a student's performance in the entrance examination of the university to which one wishes to go. In order to be a successful Cardiologist, one needs to pursue M.B.B.S.
After successfully completing 10+2, students must enrol in a bachelor's degree programme. A bachelor's degree in M.B.B.S. is the best approach for a career as a cardiologist.
Following completion of a bachelor's degree, students must pursue post graduate specialising in cardiology. Unlike other areas, one cannot become a cardiologist immediately after graduation; one must first complete their post graduate studies. Those interested im pursuing this career can enrol in a variety of degree and diploma courses like PGD, M.Sc and M.Ch. After completing a master's degree, the student must do a one-to two year internship. After that, one will be able to practice Cardiology Professionally.
