Hello,
First of all when it comes to pursuing any course through distance mode you have to check if the concerned university is recognized by UGC, that's important otherwise your degree will not be valid, and there is no point in investing time, efforts and money in that, for example if you choose to pursue MCom through IGNOU then you can definitely go for government jobs as well in case you're interested in having a teacher career, there also it will remain valid, you can appear for UGC NET for higher studies or lectureship, there are various reasons that people choose to go for distance mode, and today we cannot diminish its value whatsoever, the covid pandemic has been a prime example in how the education has changed, today even professionals pursue short term courses through MOOCs, and that definitely enhance their value of CV, regular mode is no doubt always better option as it's not just restricted to academic studies, but an overall development beyond the traditional learning, but then there are also working professional as in I'm specifically talking about teachers who in spite of being in service choose this distance mode education, so it varies among people for their choices, and distance education also require immense self-efforts, though there may be weekend classes and all, but eventually it's consequences of self-efforts only that will help you succeed in the exam, much more than anything it's how you study which is important, your understanding of your course structure, I mean if you ever face an interview board, they will any day be more interested in your teaching skills, how well you can make your students understand the concepts, your ability to deal with children, so teaching is much more than academics, as it also involves personal attributes in the form of patience, empathy, strong communication skills, a teacher also has to be a constant learner, so to answer your question if for some reason you cannot pursue regular MCom, if you pursue the same through distance mode diligently, with dedication, and focus, then there is no absolutely no reason to not become a teacher, just keep on working yourself academically, personally and professionally.
