Hey,

Being 'the' General Manager in hotels is a matter of great deal for you are the one who have to make crucial decisions at times and supervise the overall functioning of the hotel. You have to have effective communication skills so that you can deal with guests coming from round the globe to your hotel. You need to be polite, smart, witty and the list is endless. In short, being general manager is not a cakewalk. This field looks so lucrative but it involves a lot of hardwork and patience to survive here.

Get a diploma degree in Hotel Management and start working in good hotels or resteraunt chains and gain experience.Your work experience is the ultimate factor that will help you be the General Manager in a hotel as it would validate your capabilities like nothing else. You may go for higher studies like Management in hospitality sector or General MBA for that matter. You may even go for Management Training Programmes that will provide you with the relevant skills.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.
