Hello,

Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research(IISERs) are basically a research institutions in India. The institutes were established by theGovernment of India through theMinistry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
IITs are good for engineering while IISER is better option if you want to study science and if you want to be a researcher/scientist.
Placement wise top 5 IIT is far better than NIT and just little better than IISER.
So, its totally upto your choice if you want to get a job with good package right after engineering then go for IITs and if you are interested in research then IISER is good.

I hope this helps.
