For Campus Placements, it depend on the placements offered by the college and also on the student's academic performance, skills and knowledge. Companies come to the colleges to recruit candidates with best skills and knowledge.
You can also apply for job in company if there is any opening apart from the campus placements. You can get a job if you are talented and based on your performace in the Interview.
