Hey Madhura,
Degree holders are eligible for admission to PhD if they have received a minimum of 55% or comparable grades in their studies [UGC Guidelines]. An entrance examination at the national level is followed by an interview for admission. Please check JNU's Admission Webpage for the most up-to-date information.
The completion of a Masters level course is the primary requirement for admission to PhD English programmes. It could be an M.A. in Arts or an M.Phil. in Science. Students who are doing their final exams can also apply for the entrance exam. Students in this situation should prepare for entrance exams such as GATE, CSIR-NET, or State Level Eligibility Tests (SLETs).
It's vital to remember that these exams' results are a criterion for admission.
It's also worth noting that SLET scores are solely meaningful for the state. GATE and CSIR-NET examination scores, on the other hand, are recognized by all Indian universities. Only certain Indian colleges accept GATE scores, but all Indian institutes accept CSIR-NET scores.
In India, the admissions process for a PhD English course is relatively simple.
Hope it helps....!!!
Regards.
