Does number of Higher Secondary Exam effect entrance in engineering stream of Jadavpur University or it is only based on WBJEE score ?
Jadavpur University recruits students based on the score secured by them in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE). But candidate must pass higher secondary examination in general stream in regular class mode of west Bengal council of higher secondary education or equivalent examination of any recognized board. Candidate must pass mathematics, physics and chemistry with minimal of 60 percent together and 60 percent in mathematics alone. Candidate must also secure minimum of 30 percent in English.
Since the admission is based on WB JEE the candidate must apply for it and qualify in the examination to secure seat in the university. The entire mode of application process is online. The candidate must fill the application form online and wait for further intimation about the uploading of documents online for which particular dates will be provided.

Application process:
1. Fill the application form on official WB JEE website and select type E application.
2. Fill in your personal details.
3. You will have to upload the following documents
a) colored passport size photo(recent)
b) thumb impression
c) signature
d) 10th admit card
e) caste certificate (if applicable)
f) Domicile certificate
g) DPWD certificate (if applicable)
4. Once you upload the documents you have to pay the application fee of Rs. 500/- excluding bank charges.
5. Please make sure you have the print out the confirmation page.
Examination :
Examination will be conducted based on the syllabus of class XI and XII. Mathematics section contains 80 questions 60 in category 1 and 10 10 in category 2 and 3. Physics and chemistry both together contains 80 questions 60 in category 1 and 10 10 in category 2 and 3. That makes a total of 200 questions. You will be alloted a time of 3 hours. The exam is of objective type.
In category 1 you will have to answer the questions which carries 1 mark. Negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong response.
In category 2 for each correct answer you will be given 2 marks and negative marking of 0.5 for each wrong response.
In. Category 3 it is multiple answer questions you will have to. Mark all answers for which you will be awarded 2 marks. If atleast one answer you marked is incorrect then no marks will be awarded.
