Does the admission process starts after the result of Jee mains session 1 ? If yes, then should I take admission just for safety (what if the seats of a good college get filled out) And if I get better score/rank in session 2 of jee mains, can I cancel my previous admission and get a refund?

Hello Aspirant,
No you don't have to apply for counselling just after the declaration of result of session 1 of JEE-Main 2022 because the result is made on the basis of best of the 2 scores if you appear for both the sessions of JEE-Main and only after the declaration of final result of JEE-Main the counselling process will begin.
So if you will appear for both the sessions then the best of the two scores will be taken for final result and then on the basis of that final result the counselling will be conducted.
JOSAA counselling is conducted for admission to institutions such as NITs/IIITs/IITs/GFTIs on the basis of JEE-Main or JEE-Advance score.
JOSAA counselling will only start after the declaration of result of JEE-Advance. Means it is expected to start in the month of September, after 11th of the month because as per the revised schedule the JEE-Advance 2022 result will be declared on September 11th, 2022.
You can check out the schedule from official site :-

You can also take JEE-Main Learning package for solving series of mock tests :-
I hope this information helps you.
Good Luck!!
