UPSC civil services examination is the common examination to get into services like IAS IPS IFS etc.
Now, irrespective of the service you want to get into you will have to appear in UPSC examination and need to go through its same three stages and has the same syllabus
*prelims exam :- it is objective
*Mains exam. :- it is written examination
*Interview
Prelims syllabus
It has two papers -
*General Studies Paper I and
*General Studies Paper-II.
Syllabus is :-

*Indian Economy,
*Science and Technology,
*Environment and Ecology,
*International Relations and associated current affairs etc.
