Ya, they don't, instead, they have the category system, you get a good rank in VITEE, you pay nominal fees.

You get a bad rank in VITEE, but want a good(preferred) branch in a preferred college, you pay more, that's how they work.

According to data of 2018-19, category 1 fees for cse, me, ece in Vellore campus was- 198000 inr for Indian students. while for category 2 fees for cse was ₹250000. They don't force you to pay more. It's completely your wish, ultimately you get a degree of VIT University. No matter which campus or branch you belong to.

No as far as i know VIT UNIVERSITY doesn't take admission through management quota.But VIT UNIVERSITY takes admission into various engineering branches through various categories like category 1 to 5.With increase in each category the fee structure increases by 1 lakh per annum.
