Yes, b-tech in food technology has various scopes in India. You can opt for b-tech in food engineering in any government college. The job opportunities are also very nice. You can go for government jobs too after completion of the course such as Food Technologist, Nutritional Therapist, Product and Process Development Scientist, etc. On average, it is INR 15,000 per month. So, you can opt for this course.

Food technology has a not much demand but if you are going for the good government college then you can opt. Because if you get the good environment you can also go for coding and software companies.
As you know in the time of fast growing period degree doesn't matter much but skills do matter. If you don't have any other option then this then you can work on the skills and opt in any domain which excites you.

First of all, I would like to tell that BTech Food Technology is a 4-year undergraduate course divided in 8 semesters that deals with the study of Food processing, preservation techniques, and applications of food engineering used in the food industry to increase the shelf life of the product. The basic eligibility to apply for this B. tech Course is the completion of 10+2 with at least 60% aggregate with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one optional from Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology from a recognized university.
And, yes definitely doing B. Tech in food technology from government college would for sure be beneficial for you because as Food Technology industry is growing rapidly and it shares around 14% of manufacturing GDP and 13% of India’s total food exports.. And it is worth doing so go for it.
